The Concept
- High resolution 5,5" Colour Display, excellent to read even in difficult light situations. Extremely flat engineered (28mm) with latest micro- technology. A narrow metal frame only supports the display and boards. Two screen models to choose: VGA with 320x240 pixels, and full VGA 640x480 Pixel.
- Outside dimensions are: 108x147highx28mm deep + support screws. Fits M4 screws to fit std 57mm instrument holes.
- No Touchscreen. Simple, logic Remote Control off a mini box with 8 pushbuttons, or from the Remote stick touchpad. One 4 wire cable only to operate the display. This concept results in less distraction from flying or operation mistakes due to turbulence. All flight information at a touch.
- Excellent view even in bright sunlight. Backlight function in dark surrounding.
- No internal battery. Firmware keeps programs. Large data storage. Best screen also results in low power consumption of 350 to 600 mA, good for a 7h flight off a 7,2AH battery.
- Built-in GPS module and approved FAI flight recorder.
- NEXUS, the small expandable control and cable distribution box for all options.
Details:
- A small box called “NEXUS” that fits behind the panel is the central connection and distribution station for the cables and more “add-on’s” to come soon, like:
- A Speed Sensor to allow vector wind calculation and optimize glides, independent of an existing flight computer. The ideal partner is the Cambridge 302 DDV variometer with its second flight recorder, or the older S-and LNAV flight computers from Cambridge .
- The ClearNav comes with the GNIII (Glide Navigator 3), developed out of the GNII as Navigation program with the terrain of Europe and Airspace. Special airspace data or upgrades can easily be added via USB. Large Data storage, powerful processor. Firmware technology does not need a backup battery, causing the known PDA problems loosing data and Software
- USB coupling to download flights and to feed new software and data via USB stick.
- The „Mountain rescue“- function“: Instant calculation of topography versus the gliders altitude and performance, shows the limits to reach from present point in a line around the glider position.
- In - flight Air mass Calculation and recording for later flight analysis.
- Accurate airspace display, the waypoints, landing fields and flight info.
- Flight task selection, Designated Area Task (AAT) in all versions. FLARM warnings and other glider positions visible on the display.
- The ClearNav hardware will already be designed to allow future modules developed by NK. In concept stage are numerous new applications. Intensive software care and Service guaranteed.
- Simple, clean assembly in 5 versions and hardware to take care of any panel and cockpit situation. Swivel type on stalk in various length, or on a RAM- type mount. No „cable salad“ any more! Due to this Complete all in one Concept the CLEAR-NAV display will be more as the ideal substitution into every Cockpit replacing the present emergency solution, the PDA with all it’s well known headaches, especially the small, overloaded and light sensitive screen.
- Eight assembly version provide a mounting solution for any Cockpit: On panel, flush with panel, recess in 4 "tunnel; on a stalk, on stalk hinged, on theigh, or canopy.

Parts of the ClearNav System of NK and TEKK, see red numbers above:
1 The ClearNav, mounted onto the Instrument panel; (off the surface 28mm).
2 Example: South German Landscape shown in the 5,7" Colour Display: with controlled Airspace.
600# ClearNav Rear view with Connector DB15 for the NEXUS cable Distribution Board, the USB slot, GPS Antenna and the fastening bolts in size M4, placed in the 57mm Instrument Standard.
Modules
610# The Remote Unit as a hand held Module with a RJ 22 Spiral cable. Connects into 651
640# GPS – Antenna; Connects into the ClearNav with a SMA Type coupling for a RG174 type cable;OD2,8mm.
641# NEXUS junction box. All cables end here. Contains the Speaker for SUA warnings. The Nexus will be fastened directly onto the CN when in the panel, when the CN is located outside the panel it needs the cable 645, and the NEXUS will be mounted into free space behind the panel.
651# CAN/ USB Panel socket containing the USB and RJ22 socket for the handheld remote control Module in a 1" (25,4mm) plate, mounted into the panel.
700 DDV. The new Direct Digital Variometer of NK, Alternative to the CAI 302 (2010)
612* Remote Control Stick, hand made in wood, surface finish in natural hard wax. For all glider models. Select from mahogany, cherry tree; elm, plum tree, walnut, apple tree.
612m* Handle for motor gliders Contains the PTT button and engine operation button at the rear as an option
615* Remote-Module for the remote handle; 4 wire RJ22 Cable and PTT button. In 612 included.
640# GPS – Antenna with SMA Connector
Mountings
630* Holding kit through panel with standoffs shows the entire perimeter of the CN. For a situation where the panel space allows this option.
631# Mounting kit for the CM assembly CN. Tongues not used can be cut off. Standoffs connect the CN with the panel.
632* RAM Mounting kit as the CN fitting in the cockpit. Length with mounting plate is 105 mm
633* "Stalk" Mounting kit, Needs little space. Length with mounting plate is 108 or 158 mm
650* Add to mounting kit a 90° snap-in hinge to swing the CN for easy entry or instrument view behind.
634# Protector for the CN frame, made out of Rubber, protects canopy and legs. For use with stalk or RAM
635* "Tunnel" allows the CN to be mounted inside the panel surface. 4 Models: Depth 25mm, 35mm, 35/45mm tilted, and 45/65mm tilted. Saves panel space for other instruments, protects against sun and flying objects. Material GRP/ CFP. Wants the 631 plate set. Mount to panel with epoxy resin.
636* Tunnel manufactured in metal for "do it yourself" assembly. 45/45mm deep. Screws behind the panel.
650* 90° hinge. Add to stalk mounting kit a 90° snap-in hinge to swing the CN for easy entry or instrument view behind.
Cabels
645* For Assembly off the panel with a DB 15 Extension cable for CN. Connects to the NEXUS located behind the panel.
646* 302 to the NEXUS, Cable to the Cambridge Flight Computers; feeds wind data to the CN.
647* FLARM box to the NEXUS; as the connecting cable. Brings other glider positions and Data to the CN. Connectors are DB9 / RJ22.
648# 12V Supply Coupling, 4 wire, for the CN, with switch on/off.
